Holly Jolly Holidays: Day 24 "Crafting With Kids"

Now that many kids are home for the holiday break, it's a great time to get crafting. I asked our designers to come up with a few ideas for fun holiday projects that you can make with your kids. I'm sure these projects will help fill the time between now and the big day.

Tamara Tripodi (Design Team) made "Gingerbread Playdough" with her eight year old daughter. This is a fun twist on traditional playdough.

Here is the recipe for the play dough:

Tamara points out that kids can help make a container in which to store their playdough so it doesn't dry out. Using elements from the "Holly Jolly Christmas" collection, her daughter made this jar:

Izzy Anderson (Fresh Face Designer) designed handprint ornaments with her son.

She painted her son's hand red, then "stamped" his hand onto cardstock to make Santa's beard. For the penguin, she painted her son's foot black, then "stamped" his foot on cardstock to form the penguin's body.

Once she had the handprint/footprint as her base, Izzy and her son decorated the prints with Echo Park paper, stickers, chip and brads from the "Holly Jolly Christmas" line, the "Metropolitan Dots and Stripes" collection, and the "Season's Greetings" release.
